Annotations are not saved!

I just purchased the PDF Reader X Pro because of the limit to the number of annotations on the free version, but now, MY ANNOTATIONS ARE NOT SAVED! I lose them every time I close and reopen the app! THIS IS INEXPLICABLY FRUSTRATING! Please either fix this problem immediately or reimburse me for my money! Im working on my dissertation and already wasted precious time reading and underlining articles ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THEY WERE NOT SAVED!
(I use a 2013 Macbook Air with OS X Yosemite)
